Cast Iron Frame - work completed

Today the cast iron frame work was completed on the baby grand project... Below are some pics.

Above: This picture shows when the cast iron frame was removed from the piano, this is how it looked before it was sandblasted.

Above: This is how the cast iron frame looked after it was sandblasted.

Above: After sandblasting was done, the cast iron frame was primed then painted with gold metallic. After gold was dry the frame was placed back into the piano case. Notice the newly refinished soundboard and bridge how well it looks now!!! 

Thanks to my DAD who was a BIG help with this monstrous beast talk about HEAVY!

Frame is out and soundboard has now been refinished...

Now that the frame is out, the soundboard has been cleaned down and sanded. After cleaning and sanding the finish has been applied to make it look new and shiny again. Here are before and after pictures below...
